Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh women’s handball team won the bronze medal with a fine performance in the 49th National Senior Women’s Handball Championship held in Bareilly.
In the semi-finals of the championship held in Bareilly from March 17 to 21, the Railways defeated the Uttar Pradesh team 31-20, giving UP a third place satisfaction.
Earlier, UP defeated Delhi 27-22 in the quarter-finals to advance to the semi-finals. The medal winning team of Uttar Pradesh was awarded the medal by Dr. Pradip Kumar Balamuchi, Senior Vice President of Handball Federation of India and Dr. Sudhir M. Bobde, President of Uttar Pradesh Handball Association.
