Ukraine: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that more than two million Ukrainian children have been forcibly taken to Russia by Russian troops. These include children taken away from orphanages, taken away with parents and separated from their families.
President Zelensky said in a video message that the purpose of this criminal policy is not only to steal people, but to erase people’s memories of Ukraine and leave them incapable of returning. He further said that Ukraine will punish the guilty but first it will show Russia on the battlefield that Ukraine cannot be conquered, our people will not surrender and our children will not become the property of the invaders.
Zelensky said that 243 children have been killed, 446 wounded, and 139 missing in the war in areas occupied by Russia. He said the number could be even higher because his government was not aware of the clear position of the areas occupied by Russian troops. He mentioned the names of 11 children and informed about their deaths.
