UP govt to hold cooking competition on second day of Shri Anna Mahotsav in Lucknow
Lucknow’s Chatori Gali to be filled with the aroma of dishes made of millets from on 2nd day of Shri Anna Mahotsav
Lucknow: In the year of Millets, the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh is promoting the Shri Anna. As part of this, the Shri Anna Mahotsav will be organized at the Indira Gandhi Institute from October 27 to 29.
On the one the event will feature discussions on the cultivation and processing of nutritious coarse grains, and on the other, famous hotels and restaurants in Lucknow will participate in a millet cooking competition.
This competition is proposed to take place in Chatori Gali on the second day of the event. This preparation is being done in accordance with the Yogi government’s directive to promote coarse grains.
Hotels-restaurants will spread the aroma of millet products in Chatori Gali
As part of the Shri Anna Mahotsav, there will be a competition for millet dishes under the supervision of the Agriculture Department. Several renowned hotels and restaurants in Lucknow will take part in the contest, preparing millet dishes for the public. This program is planned in collaboration with the Agriculture Department and the Local Development Authority.
The Hotel-Restaurant Association is being contacted for the competition to be held in Chatori Gali. In this competition, there will be many delicious dishes of millet, buckwheat, ramdana, jowar, kodo, sanwa, jowar etc.
Awards will be given to hotels with the best cuisine
There will also be tough competition among hotels serving millets cuisine. In the cooking competition proposed on the second day, the hotel-restaurant with the most delicious dish will also be rewarded.
The winners, selected by the judges, will receive first, second, and third prizes, and they will be honored by the Agriculture Department. The Agriculture Department is actively preparing for this competition. One of the objectives of this competition is also to raise awareness about coarse grains among the general public.
Millets products will be displayed
Besides competition, there will be an exhibition of millet products at the Indira Gandhi Institute during the festival. The three-day exhibition will have 40 stalls, including those from various departments, FPOs, and even the Hotel Association.
Preparations are underway to celebrate this event elegantly, with the participation of experts from agricultural research institutes of the country and state as well as progressive farmers.
