Lucknow: This year the Uttar Pradesh Gram Panchayat elections will be held in 4 stages before April 30. There will be a difference of 3 to 4 days in each phase. One district will vote in one phase only. As per reports the Panchayat elections will be announced on 24 or 26 March.
The State Election Commission is preparing to conduct elections for 75 zilla panchayats, 826 development blocks and 58,194 gram panchayats in 4 phases.
It is noteworthy that on March 19, 4 years of the state government are nearing completion. On this occasion, the government will spread the word on its achievements in four years in rural and urban areas for three to four days.
A notification will be issued by the Panchayati Raj Department after four-five days. After this, the notification can be issued by the Commission on 25 or 26 March.
According to the State Election Commission, the final list of reservation for the panchayat elections will come by March 17. Once the reservation is clear, it will take three to four days to finalize. It is expected that by March 22, the final list of reservation will be received by the Commissionwhich will be forwarded to the District Election Officers. A proposal to conduct elections on behalf of the Commission will be sent to the Panchayati Raj Department. After the proposal of the commission, the department will issue the first notification.
