UPCOP app in U.P., making complaint redressal smoother and easier

Lucknow: In yet another effort to streamline law and order in the state of Uttar Pradesh, a new app is available round the clock to make people feel safer.  The people of the state feel safe under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Police has become a friend of the public. Compared to other states, Uttar Pradesh has registered a significant decline in the number of various crimes. There are 25 lakh people in the state, whose mobile app ‘UPCOP’ is downloaded on their mobile. They do not have to make rounds of police stations for petty works. These people make normal complaints on the app itself and their complaints are also resolved online. It is to be known that through this app, UP Police is providing citizen centric central services to the people of the state. It can be downloaded by visiting the play store of Android mobile.

CM adopted zero tolerance policy

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, as soon as he took over the power of the state, had instructed the UP Police to adopt zero tolerance policy to make the state crime free and send criminals behind the bars. As a result of which, the number of various crimes has registered a significant decline in Uttar Pradesh as compared to other states of the country. Not only this, the Yogi government had instructed the police to take strict action against the criminals by registering the complaint of the victims. On this, the UP Police provided the facility to the victims to come to the police station and register a complaint, including through digital medium. For this, the UP Police created the UPCop app and promoted it fiercely, as a result of which 10 lakh people downloaded this app till January, while by October it was downloaded by more than 25 lakh people on their mobiles.

In September, more than one lakh 83 thousand people sent their application

ADG Women and Child Safety and Organization Neera Rawat said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has a lot of emphasis on hi-tech policing. Keeping this in mind, the UP Police’s UPCOP app was promoted so that more and more people can download it on their mobiles and register their complaints with us sitting at home. It also showed positive results. While 10 lakh people had downloaded the app on their mobile in January, in just eight months after the publicity, 2.5 million people downloaded it on their mobile and in September more than 183637 people had registered their name through the app for verification. Sent the application form whereas in May its number was 69041. If we talk about its growth in September, then it was 165.98 percent. At the same time, in September, more than 93278 people sent their FIR and lost things through the app, while in May its number was close to 80 thousand.

UPCop app on people’s mobile due to wide publicity

The UP Police stressed on the promotion of the UPCop app so that every state can take advantage of it. UP Police has spread this by putting up banners of UPCOP App in every district of the state on Thana Diwas, Samadhan Diwas so that more and more people can take advantage of it and register their complaints sitting at home. Not only this, the sticker of the app was installed in every PRV vehicle of UP-112. At the same time, through FM, radio channels Big FM, Radio City, Red FM and Fever FM, the app was promoted in Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Agra, Bareilly, Kanpur and Western Uttar Pradesh. Also, between April and July, ten thousand posters were printed and distributed at zonal offices, tehsils, blocks, public service centers, hospitals, panchayat houses, police stations and other important places in the state.
