Lucknow: UP Metro Rail Corporation continues to endeavour to take babysteps towards safety, security & health at workplace. The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation celebrated its 50th anniversary of National Safety Day when MD Kumar Keshav took the safety pledge in presence of Directors, senior officials & UPMRC staff at Administrative Office, Gomti Nagar.
The safety pledge of taking care of one’s safety, security, health along with protection of environment was also taken at Transport Nagar Metro Depot and Kanpur & Agra project sites.
UPMRC is actively involved in renewing the commitment of employees and general public for work safety in resonance with the theme “Learn from Disaster and Prepare for a safer future.”
Earlier on 1st March, 2021, safety badges were distributed among the employees both at Administrative Office & Metro Depot to create awareness & motivate employees to adopt safe practices both at workplace & in daily routine.
Moreover, banners were also displayed to highlight the importance of safety & security during the observance of Safety Week 2021.
On the occasion of National Safety Day 2021 Kumar Keshav, Managing Director, Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation said,” With the objective of ensuring the safe execution of work at our project sites we have been constantly imparting training programs for our metro employees, contract staff & labourers. We have also undertaken several initiatives for the safety, security, health & environment protection. UPMRC has followed international safety standards during the implementation of Lucknow Metro project for which we achieved the recognition of Golden Award 2019 in the Infrastructure & Project category by Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). We will continue to follow these international safety standards in Kanpur Metro also.
