UPMRC Organises Skit & Dance Competition as a part Of ‘Swantantrata Saptaah’ Celebrations

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) today organised various cultural activities as a part of ‘Swantantrata Saptaah’ beginning from 11th-17th August, 2022. A special skit and dance competition was today organised at Hazratganj metro station for the school students depicting the theme of ‘Azadi/Independence’. UPMRC is conducting all these cultural activities and events on the occasion of celebrating 75 glorious years of independence under the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ initiative of the government.

Sushil Kumar, MD, UPMRC today also feliciated the winners of competitions conducted during the ‘Swantantrata Saptaah’ from 11th-17th August, 2022 like quiz, musical chair, selfie contest drawing competition, etc. In the quiz competition conducted for metro employees on 11th August, 2022, Saurabh Tiwari (JE/electrical), Ankit Saxena (JE/Electrical), Ritika Saxena (SE/S&T), Rahul Sharma (Account Asst.) & Shyam Saran Patel (AM/S&T) were declared winners. In the musical chair competition conducted for houskeeping staff on 12th August, 2022, Pooja, Rohit Kumar & Mukesh Jaiswal were adjudged winners. UPMRC had also organised a ‘Swachta Pakhwda’ from 15-30th June, 2022 in which a slogan writing contest was conducted. The first, second & third prizes were won by Priyanka Roy, Ankit Srivastava & Purna Majumdar respectively in slogan writing contest. The best 3 drawings winners namely Prisha Singh, Arjun Srivastava & Sukhpreet Kaur were also awarded during prize distribution ceremony today. A special prize was given to Shishir Mishra for casio performance at Hazratganj Metro station on 15th August, 2022.

The winner of group dance competition held today was bagged by St Joseph Inter College, Thakurganj. The winning group comprised 7 members which mesmerised the spectators with their enthralling performance. Moreover, SJ International was the winner in the skit competition.

While congratulating the prize winners of these contests, MD UPMRC,  Sushil Kumar, said,”As the country celebrates the 75 years of independence on 15th August, 2022, we should come forward to pay tribute to the martyrs & freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the sake of the country. While remembering their sacrifices we should also take a vow to work towards nation building and progress of the country. All of us as Indians should take pride and patriotism to serve our mother land which is our foremost duty.”

Referring to the Swatantrata Saptah from 11-17th August 2022 as a part of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations, Shri Sushil Kumar said, “This is a small effort to highlight the contribution of various freedom fighters as well as our achievements in the last 75 years of Independence”.
