UPMRC suspends Metro Operations during extended lockdown

Lucknow: Soon after the Yogi Adityanath government announced that it was extending the lockdown by two days till the 6th of May, 7 am, the UPMRC has announced that Metro train services will remain suspended on 4th and 5th May 2021(Tuesday and Wednesday). They said that the services will resume on 6th May (Thursday)from 7am.

The change comes close on the heels of the Metro earlier making changes to its functioning wherein the Metro series were off during the weekend and on other days the last Metro left at 8 pm an resmed operations at 7 am. Times had been changed with the night curfew and weekend lockdown coming into force.

The changes in the Metro timings were made in the city keeping in mind the safety and security of passengers onboard the Metro. In general circumstances, the last metro used to ply at 10.30 pm.

A night curfew for the week and lockdown for the weekend was imposed by the district administration.
