Urban Sector becoming pivot of development – AK Sharma

Lucknow: State Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K. Sharma, a seminar was organized as a runup to the  Investors Summit between Urban Development Department and Indian Industries Association (IIA) to attract entrepreneurs and invite them to invest.

In this, 67 MoUs were signed between various companies and the Urban Development Department for an investment of Rs 21 thousand crore and investment proposals worth  one thousand crore were also received. The entrepreneurs agreed to invest in MSME, bio fuel, bio CNG, infrastructure, solar energy, plastic road construction, solid based treatment etc. in the field of urban development.

Urban Development Minister A.K. Sharma said that the urban sector is becoming the pivot of development in the state, it is now called the growth sector of the state. This is a very potential sector. Along with this, a lot of work has to be done in the areas of solid waste energy, bio fuel, bio energy in the cities. Along with this, advertisements, displays, operation of electronic buses, parks and intersections are to be beautified.

Principal Secretary Urban Development Amrit Abhijat said that a lot of work has to be done for development in the urban areas of the state. There are many sectors for investment here. There has been a lot of change in the state due to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the atmosphere has also changed. The citizens here are also witnessing the changing picture of the state. He said that our state has become the fastest developing state in the country.

National President of IIA Ashok Aggarwal said that the current state of the state is providing better environment for industries. This will lead to development of the state and employment will also increase. Entrepreneurs are very enthusiastic about investing in the state. In each district and municipal corporation, the work will be done by the investment committee through IIA. By taking small entrepreneurs together, the pace of development of the state will increase.

Minister of State for Urban Development Rakesh Rathore Guru, Principal Secretary Anil Kumar, Secretary Ranjan Kumar, Special Secretary Rajendra Pensia, Director Urban Bodies Neha Sharma along with departmental officers, office bearers of IIA Chapter, industrialists were present in the seminar of the Investors Summit.
