Uttar Pradesh as a state doing exemplary work in women empowerment : Anandiben Patel
Ayodhya: The 27th convocation ceremony of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, Ayodhya, was held under the chairmanship of the Governor and Chancellor of Uttar Pradesh, Anandiben Patel. In the ceremony, the Governor gave away 127 gold medals to the meritorious students of graduation, post-graduation for securing the highest marks in their subjects and for special merit.
A total of 191074 students were awarded degrees in bachelor’s, master’s and PhD programs of universities and colleges. In which a total of 152080 graduates, 38897 masters and 97 PhD students were awarded degrees.
Addressing the convocation ceremony organized at the Swami Vivekananda Auditorium of the University, the Governor and the Chancellor wished all the students who received the degree a bright future to achieve success in their future life.
She said that Ayodhya has been a symbol of our cultural richness since time immemorial. It has the distinction of being the workplace of national visionaries like Acharya Narendra Dev and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia.
The Governor described the university as the center of excellent development of human resources of the nation and said that India’s democracy and culture is our heritage. Today India is leading the world towards Yoga therapy. Our country is progressing globally while preserving the rich heritage.
Discussing the National Education Policy-2020, she said that its concept is slowly taking shape. Expressing happiness, she said that today the state is doing exemplary work in women empowerment. In six universities of the state, six women vice-chancellors are discharging their duties with full dedication. Mentioning that about 80 percent medals have been won by girl students in the convocation ceremonies of state universities, the Governor said that today the participation of women in the field of education is increasing at every level. This performance is welcome and a heartening message towards social building of India.
The Chancellor cum Governor stressed the need to ink MoUs with educational institutions at the global level along with research projects for quality improvement in the educational level of the university. She asked the students to be associated with various activities at the social and village level outside the university campus. She said that universities will have to play an active role in social participation and citizens will have to be made aware at the village level, only then the concept of a strong India can be realised.
In her address, the Governor expressed concern over the decreasing production and use of millets in the country. She said that its beneficial from the point of view of health, its demand has increased all over the world. She asked to spread the benefits of its use and dishes at the university level. In the program, the Governor distributed inspirational books, bags and fruits to 30 students of the primary school. She also provided material to the Anganwadi workers to make the Anganwadi centers comfortable. On this occasion, the Governor also released the annual souvenir of the university.
The chief guest at the ceremony, Prof. Kuldeep Chand Agnihotri, former Vice-Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh Central University, Dharamshala, said that the tradition of initiation in India is very ancient. Initiation is a sacred process. Try to understand India from this sage tradition. Sharing his experiences with the students, he wished them all the best for the future.
Special guest and Minister of State for Higher Education Rajni Tiwari said that all students should participate in nation building. Everyone has to prove the meaningfulness of the title by following good conduct and moral values.
On this occasion, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Pratibha Goyal presented the progress report of the University and motivated the students for success in future life by working with excellent contribution and dedication.
The Vice-Chancellor, teachers, students and employees of the university along with local religious leaders were present in the ceremony.
