Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government is considering convening the monsoon session of the state assembly in September. The Yogi government can use this session to tell the achievements of 100 days. However, some important legislative work will also be dealt with during this period. In fact, it will be interesting to see whether the state government will consider presenting its first supplementary budget for 2022-23 during the monsoon session. However, senior officials have remained silent in this matter.
The budget session of the state assembly ended on May 31. The State Government is bound by the Constitution of India to convene the next session before the completion of six months from the conclusion of the previous session. Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna said on Wednesday that the state government has proposed to convene a monsoon session of the state legislature. But we have not yet fixed the date for convening the monsoon session.
Listing achievements on the completion of the first 100 days of his government’s second term, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had on July 4 claimed that all departments had achieved the targets set for the period. In addition, about 50 out of 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh are facing rain deficient and the monsoon session will provide an opportunity to the members to discuss the conditions in most of such districts.
