Lucknow: Under the Agriculture Infrastructure Development (Agriculture Infrastructure Fund) in Uttar Pradesh, an amount of Rs 320 crore has been released by the Central Government for 844 projects. Along with this, the Uttar Pradesh government has started making advance strategy for the upcoming Rabi season in the interest of the farmers of the state.
State Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi informed in a departmental meeting held in Vidhan Bhawan’s meeting hall that under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, the Government of India has released an amount of Rs.320 crores for 844 agricultural projects of the Government of Uttar Pradesh. He said that under agricultural infrastructure development, rice, wheat, oil, pulses mills, cold storage chain and food processing units etc. are developed.
The Agriculture Minister directed the officials of Agriculture, Cooperation, Horticulture, Sugarcane to ensure that by March 31, 2023, the reports of projects worth Rs 2 thousand crores should be submitted on the Government of India portal.
Agriculture Minister Shahi said that for the preparation of the upcoming Rabi season, attention will be given to the production of pulses, oilseeds and millets and their area expansion by making coordination between agriculture and related departments. Along with this, farmers will also be made aware about the use of nano fertilizers and pesticides. A Rabi seminar will be organized in Lucknow on October 12 regarding the strategy for the preparations for the Rabi season. He directed the departmental officers to provide free kits of seeds of vegetables, pulses-oilseeds and millets to the farmers soon.
During the meeting, Minister of State for Cooperation (Independent Charge) JPS Rathore, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Horticulture Dinesh Pratap Singh, Minister of State for Agriculture Baldev Singh Aulakh, Agriculture Production Commissioner Manoj Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Agriculture Dr Devesh Chaturvedi and other departmental high officials were present.
