Uttar Pradesh to set in motion process for smoother land measurement
Lucknow: The state government is going to take important steps to end the land metering dispute. The measurement of land will now be done through Electronic Total Station (ETS). For this, five machines will be taken in each tehsil.
ETS will measure land
On the lines of Bihar and Punjab, the Revenue Department is going to make arrangements for metering of land through ETS in UP. The ETS measurement process is being told that the rays emanating from the machine will measure the ground. It won’t make a difference of even a cm. In the ETS process, it will be placed on one side of the ground and its prism will be placed on the other side. On pressing the button, the machine will emit rays and record the distance of the prism from the prism. GPS will also be used in measurement. This will not only make the measurement work faster, but also there will be no complaint of any kind of error. The revenue department will train the accountants for the new system.
1750 machines will be purchased
The Revenue Department will buy five electronic total stations in each tehsil in the first phase for the convenience of the people. At present there are 350 tehsils in the state. According to this, a total of 1750 machines will be purchased. To run these machines, five teams will be deployed in each tehsil. According to an official of the Revenue Department, the state government is going to take this measure to prevent the irregularities in the name of measurement of land. After its arrival, the disturbance in the name of land metering will stop to a great extent and the dispute in its name will also end. Most of the disputes in the state are related to land.
