Uttar Pradesh top performer in Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh has created a new record by successfully implementing Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and under the leadership of Urban Development and Energy Minister AK Sharma. In the PMAY-U Awards 2021: 150 Day Challenge organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Uttar Pradesh has secured the first position in the country in the ‘Best Performing State’ category. On behalf of the ministry, Uttar Pradesh was given this award in the category of Best Performing State for better implementation of the scheme.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave this award to the state at the Indian Urban Housing Conclave held in Rajkot, Gujarat. State Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra, Principal Secretary Urban Development Amrit Abhijat received this award.
PMAY-U Award 2021: 150 Day Challenge was started by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Through this challenge, the municipal bodies that effectively implement the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) were to be honored.
The Indian Urban Housing Conclave was organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs from 17 to 19 October 2022 in Rajkot, Gujarat. Along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Puri along with senior officials of other states were also present in the program. During this, Uttar Pradesh has got the first place in the category of Best Performing State.
Nagar Nigam Agra got the first place among all the Municipal Corporations of the country. The municipal body of the state was honored with the Best Performing Municipal Corporation award. Bhadohi Nagar Palika Parishad was awarded the second prize in the category of Best Performing Municipal Council. Kirawali Nagar Panchayat was awarded the second prize at the national level in the category of Best Performing Nagar Panchayat.
Apart from this, Nagar Nigam Agra, Nagar Palika Parishad Bhadohi and Nagar Panchayat Kirawali have also been awarded with Best CLTC Award.
