Verification campaign of registered traders is wrong says UPAVM President Sanjay Gupta

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Adarsh Vyapar Mandal expressed indignation on the order of verification of registered traders door to door by GST department from May 16. GST department should not implement new methods of harassment of traders said trade leader Sanjay Gupta.

The department verifies every point before GST registration, so it is not appropriate to go to every trader said Sanjay Gupta. This order is against the basic concept of GST.

After getting information about verification of registration and verification of addresses by the GST department from May 16, by conducting a campaign of place visits on the establishments of all registered traders, there has been resentment among the traders of the state.

State President of Uttar Pradesh Adarsh Vyapar Mandal Sanjay Gupta said the GST department is implementing new rules to harass the registered traders. He said that every point is verified by the department before GST registration and even in the basic concept of GST, there should be no physical contact between the trader and the officer.

If the department receives a particular complaint from a trader, the department should investigate it, but mass investigation campaign is inappropriate. Sanjay Gupta said that the verification campaign of registered traders there will pave the way for the harassment of traders. He said that Uttar Pradesh Adarsh Vyapar Mandal opposes this campaign.
