Vice President presides over discussion on Empowering Sustainable Future through Governance

Varanasi: Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar addressed the 51st National Company Secretaries Conference as the Chief Guest at Deendayal Hastkala Sankul, Trade Center in Varanasi. In his address,  Dhankhar said that Kashi was chosen for the Secretary’s Conference, it is a great achievement. He said that the Prime Minister has transformed Kashi.

The Vice President said that Kashmir has suffered a lot because of Article 370, that temporary section gradually became permanent and was abolished. He said that the decision on the Ram Temple, pending for years, has come and its construction is going on and we are waiting for January 2024 when it will be grandly inaugurated.

Praising the strong economic condition of the country, he said that there is no doubt that by the end of this decade, India will emerge as the third strongest economy in the world, leaving behind Germany and Japan. Farmers benefited from the government policies.. The passing of the Women’s Reservation Bill is historic.

The Vice President said that now governance has been made transparent and accountable, which has accelerated our development journey and India has reached this stage. Middlemen have been eliminated in administration and transparency has increased. The public welfare policies of the government and the visionary thinking of taking the country forward have taken India to this height. He stressed that company secretaries will have to play an important role in the fundamental changes that are taking place in the country and they are doing so.

Talking about economic nationalism, Shri Dhankhar ji said that if trade, business and industry come together then the economy of our country will grow faster. The Prime Minister had said in his Mann Ki Baat, ‘Vocal for Local’, if we follow this path then we will provide a bright future for the coming generations. The Vice President said that India has implemented the world’s most reformative tax system GST in our country and the country is seeing its unprecedented benefits today. He also mentioned India’s growing progress in the technical field.

Referring to the law and order situation in the country, Shri Dhankhar ji said that today there is rule of law and no person can be above the law, no matter how big he is. We are in the Amrit Kaal, due to the commitment of the Prime Minister, this Amrit Kaal has now become a period of glory, you would have never seen so much respect for India in the world as it is today. The Vice President said that the stature of the Prime Minister of India today at the global level was never before respected.

On this occasion, State Governor Anandiben Patel presided over the function as a special guest. While heartily welcoming and congratulating the chief guest Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, he said that it is a matter of pride for all of us to organize the National Conference of Company Secretaries in Kashi, the cultural and spiritual capital of the country. Company Secretary is an important post for public and private sector companies. It is the keeper of the corporate conscience.

The Governor said that it is the responsibility of the Company Secretary to take his organization forward on the path of progress by managing it efficiently and following the company laws. The Institute of Company Secretaries of India is playing an important role in this direction. The contribution of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India in building a strong and capable India is commendable. The right or wrong advice given by company secretaries affects the corporate governance of the country.

Addressing the company secretaries, the Governor said that as a company secretary, you are a part of many important decisions. Therefore, it is important that you ensure that any organization you are associated with meets the needs of the present generation, without compromising the needs of the future generation. Along with this, every company in the country should follow the existing laws, do not make irregularities in its books, maintain complete transparency. The way you fulfill your responsibilities reflects the corporate culture of the country.

He said that the work of company secretaries should be such that they can establish India on the world stage. Today, under the leadership of the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is progressing in all fields. Be it economic or social sector, it is progressing rapidly in all directions. Our India is the fifth largest economy in the world. Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims to bring it to the top three. This economic growth of the country will bring immense opportunities for our youth.

The Central and State Governments are taking every necessary step to increase investment and accelerate economic development. These are an important step towards achieving the goal of a developed India. In such a situation, it becomes even more important that our professionals are not only capable and competent, but also courageous and creative.
