Village Gohna Art adopted by Pro Bono Club, Lucknow University
Lucknow: Pro Bono Club, a prestigious institution of Lucknow University, at Village- Gohna Kala, Tehsil- BKT, Lucknow under the Nyaya Bandhu Scheme of the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India on 02.11.2023 was adopted for the academic session 2023-24. Dr. Alok Kumar Yadav, faculty in-charge of Pro Bono Club, said that Pro Bono Associates of Pro Club will visit villages every month in the academic session (2023-24) and will provide free legal aid and information to the villagers. Along with this, villagers will also be made aware about government welfare schemes.
In this sequence, on 04.11.2023, the Pro Bono Associate of the club launched a door to door campaign to provide free legal aid, legal information and publicity of government welfare schemes to the villagers. Manish Tiwari, student convenor of Pro Bono Club, said that in the campaign, he visited about 150 houses and talked to the people and whatever problems they had related to the system were noted down and their problems would soon be resolved by setting up a camp in the village. The student convenor also said that the villagers were also motivated to mediate the cases through Lok Adalat.
At the time of the program, the head of the faculty, Prof. (Dr) BD Singh, Prof. Harish Chandra, Dr. Radheshyam Prasad, Dr. Abhishek Kumar Tiwari and club’s Pro Bono Associate Yashvardhan, Sumit, Vaishnav, Dhruv, Shushant Aditya, Suhani, Shrishti, Mimansha etc. were present.
