Virat Kohli, the Centurion Rules

Mumbai: India’s star batsman Virat Kohli created unique history by scoring his 50th ODI century in the India vs New Zealand World Cup 2023 semi-final. He has become the player who has scored the most centuries in ODI cricket. He has broken the record of great batsman Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin scored 49 centuries in his career. This is Kohli’s third century in the current tournament.

India won the toss and decided to bat first against New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Rohit and Shubman Gill made a partnership of 72 runs for the first wicket. Rohit scored 47 runs in 29 balls with the help of 4 fours and 4 sixes. Gill retired hurt after scoring 79 runs in 65 balls. He hit 8 fours and 3 sixes. Gill added 93 runs with Kohli. After this, Kohli and Shreyas Iyer took charge in a strong performance. Both of them made a partnership of 163 runs for the third wicket. Kohli scored a century in 106 balls with 8 fours and one six. He has also become the highest run scorer in a single edition of the World Cup.
