VISIT TO AASTHA OLD AGE HOME
Lucknow: A team led by Dr. Rina Srivastava Assistant Professor Education Department and Dr. Archana Singh Assistant Professor Zoology Department and NSS Program Officer under the guidance of Principal of National PG College Dr. Devendra Kumar Singh went to Aastha Old Age Home. Led by the Peer Educator of the Youth Counseling Center (VII), the Peer Educator traveled as part of the Old Age Home in which the peer educator shared his experience with the older people living there.
Dr. A. K. Shukla told the volunteers that there are many mental and physical ailments among the people living here and their treatment is timely, he gave detailed information about mental diseases like Alzheimer’s, dementia etc.
The work done by the Old Age Hospital for the elderly people has also been appreciated by the Honorable Prime Minister and three Presidents. The students sang songs for the elders after meeting them, during the educational tour, the students took a pledge that they would be ready to serve the elders in future.
