Lucknow: Vivekananda Polyclinic the Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital has been empaneled by State Health Agency – Uttar Pradesh under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. This hospital has facilities for treatment of heart, nose, ear and throat, asthma, abdominal diseases, gynecology, orthopedics, neurology, cancer and other complex diseases spanning 350 beds and a 24-hour service.
This information was given by Sangeeta Singh, Chief Executive Officer of the State Health Agency. She said that the State Health Agency is committed to provide better health facilities to every section of the society and private hospitals are being motivated to provide better health facilities to maximum number of beneficiaries. Uttar Pradesh has the third largest number of hospitals listed after Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, listing more than 3200 hospitals. Underprivileged families get better health facilities, so a workshop was organized in Kanpur on December 2 to bind private hospitals under this scheme, in which those hospitals which are not yet listed under the scheme were invited, . Participated in this workshop and 37 hospitals out of them expressed interest for affiliation under the scheme.
So far, more than 16 lakh beneficiaries have taken advantage of free treatment in this scheme. The state and central governments are serious about the success of this scheme and involving more and more people in it. In order to create awareness about this scheme, people are being encouraged to make Ayushman cards in the backward areas of the state through street plays and LED bikes. Ayushman cards of 2.35 crore beneficiaries have been made in Uttar Pradesh so far, the number of families in which at least one member has Ayushman card is 56 percent. The objective of this scheme is that there should be participation of maximum government and private hospitals and the benefits of better and quality health facilities in the state should reach the person standing in the last line.
