Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has already set the ball rolling for procurement of new testing equipment to boost the discovery of new strain of COVID-19 which has its roots in United Kingdom and elsewhere. CM Yogi Adityanath has ordered that people coming from UK, France and other countries be traced.
Each one will have to go through mandatory RTPCR tests and be quarantined till their results are available. In a review meeting held recently Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath said that a list of all such people coming from abroad should be prepared. They will be made to go through rigorous home isolation.
These people should also be kept in home isolation as per rules until the results of the testing are received.
He has also given clear instructions that maintaining an effective system of contact tracing and surveillance will be important, adding that RTPCR and rapid antigen tests should be conducted with full capacity. Surpassing the rather tumultuous times of COVID, after a long gap the state has registered less than one thousand new COVID cases in 24 hours.
As of last Sunday only 959 new COVID cases were found with 1391 patients discharged. The state has 15371 active COVID patients.
