With tradition of Nahaya Khaaye, Chhath Puja festivities start in Lucknow
Lucknow: Chhath Puja Mahaparva started with a bath on Friday. This great festival is celebrated every year on the sixth day of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. In this puja, a complete 36-hour fasting is done. According to Hindu belief, Chhath Puja begins with a bath on the Chaturthi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. On the second day, Kharna is performed, on the third day, the fast is culminated by offering arghya to the setting sun and on the fourth day, by offering arghya to the rising sun.
For this festival, necessary arrangements are being made by the Municipal Corporation Lucknow at various ghats of the capital Lucknow. Apart from this, the police administration has also made elaborate security arrangements. Inspection was done by Lucknow Municipal Commissioner Inderjit Singh at Laxman Mela Ground situated on the banks of river Gomti. During this, the Municipal Commissioner took stock of the cleanliness of the ghat, cleaning the river water, garbage collection, sprinkling of lime, sanitization, antilarva, etc. and all the arrangements of the ghat were found satisfactory.
Lucknow Municipal Commissioner Inderjit Singh said that this time the Municipal Corporation has created 10 zones for Chhath Puja including cleanliness and other arrangements.
In which Laxman Mela Ground Ghat in Sector 1, Jhulelal Vatika Ghat in Sector 2, Raja Rahul City Chhath Puja Ghat of Shahinur Colony in Sector 3 and Saraswati Puram PGI Chhath Puja Ghat, Mankameshwar Ghat in Sector 4 Sanjia Ghat and Ayodhyadas Ward II tied barrel no. 2 Ghats, Next to Shri Hiralal Law College in Sector 5, Newly constructed Chhath Puja Ghat in Raniapur, Ghat near Sainik School in Sarojini Nagar, Chhath Puja Ghat in Azad Nagar, Hindnagar LDA Colony, PWD Colony and Lok Kaleshwar Mandir in Sector 6 Near, Chhohariya Mata Mandir courtyard of Chinhat in Sector 7, Chhath Ghat, behind Panchmukhi Hanuman of Colvin College – Nishatganj Ward, Kudiya Ghat in Sector 8, ILDA Colony Kanpur Road in Sector 9, Nageshwar Mandir Ruchikhand, Sarojini Nagar II Puja Ghat Ghats have been included near Kukrail picnic spot in Sector 10, near Pampi Singh’s house, Durgapuri Colony and Utrethiya.
