With U.P. Board exams starting soon, Minister Gulab Devi launches control room
Lucknow: State’s Minister of State for Secondary Education (Independent Charge) Gulab Devi inaugurated the state-level control room set up for online monitoring of Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Council examinations for the year 2023. The State Level Control Room has been set up in the Camp Office, Director of Education (Secondary)-18 Park Road. She said that the UP board examinations are starting from 16th February. Online monitoring will be done through the control room to make the examinations fair, transparent and cheating-free. In the control room, arrangements have been made for the divisional in-charge and control room in-charge for monitoring and supervision in both the shifts.
The Secondary Education Minister said that students and parents can send their suggestions and complaints to the state level control room through public through toll free no., social media platforms to keep cleanliness and purity during the board examination period.

She further stated that in addition to this, a state-level control room has been set up at Vidya Samiksha Kendra, operated in the Directorate of Literacy and Alternative Education, Naviullah Road, Lucknow, for intensive online monitoring and review during the board examination period.
The Secondary Education Minister said that according to the intention of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a total of 8753 examination centers have been set up in the state to conduct the cheating-free board examinations for the year 2023. 02 CCTV cameras, voice recorders and routers have been installed in each room of each examination center, through which live monitoring of the entire examination period will be done through webcasting. 8753 center administrators, external center administrators, static magistrates and 1390 sector magistrates, 455 zonal magistrates have been appointed for the examination. 521 mobile teams have been formed.
Apart from this, 75 state level supervisors have also been appointed for each district from the government level. District level control room has been set up in each district for online monitoring. A total of 58,85,745 candidates will appear in the board examination, in which 31,16,487 candidates of high school and 27,69,258 candidates of intermediate are included.
The Secondary Education Minister said that for the year 2023, new arrangements have been made for the board examination, in which for the first time a strong room has been set up for the maintenance of question papers in a separate room from the Principal’s room, in view of the security arrangements for the question papers at the examination centres.
Except the main entrance of the strong room, all other doors and windows have been sealed. Center Administrator, External Center Administrator and Static Magistrate have been made jointly responsible for the extraction of question paper from the strong room and its distribution. In order to maintain the purity of the answer books, for the first time bar code and logo of the Board of Secondary Education have been put on the answer books, as well as for the first time ‘stitched’ answer books will be made available in all the districts. For the convenience of the examinees, for the convenience of the examinees, for the first time, subject-wise directory/suggestions for major subjects have been prepared and uploaded on the website of the board, for the convenience of the examinees, how to get good marks in high school and intermediate.
For the convenience of the candidates in the practical examinations, for the first time help desks were set up at the council headquarters and all the regional offices. Under the National Education Policy-2020, objective test of 20 marks is being conducted in high school on OMR sheet. Arrangements have been made to keep STF and Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) active for the entire examination period for monitoring sensitive and highly sensitive examination centres.
The Secondary Education Minister has asked all the principals and teachers to work for conducting the exams in a stress-free and comfortable environment, along with conducting the exams smoothly. He gave best wishes to the students for their success in the board examination.
After inaugurating the State Level Control Room, the Minister of Secondary Education released the first issue of the quarterly magazine “Madhyamik Prabodhan” published by the Department of Secondary Education. The magazine will act as a guide for the general public and the officers, employees and teachers of the department.
