Woman constable receives plaudits for her quick intervention to help a woman deliver on station

Gorakhpur: It is not for nothing that women are fast getting a place in the police establishment. Women are often seen as far more committed, hard working and a certain section of society known for their sense of compassion and empathy.

With the situation on Corona spiralling out of hand mass migrant exodus has once again started in parts of the country. Lady cops have been given charge in some places to manage the situation. In Gorakhpur, some such cases have come to light, due to which the respect of the police among people has trebled.

An RPF woman stationed at the station helped in safe delivery of an expecting woman. All this as a  night curfew was in place. The female constable was having difficulty in taking her to the hospital, so the lady constable helped her deliver at the station itself.

The expecting woman 35 year old Ayesha Khatoon was from Bihar who reached Gorakhpur by bus along with father-in-law from Hardoi.

The woman was at the railway station, waiting for the train going to Narkatiaganj. At 10:30 pm, Ayesha started having labour pain. When there was no help from any of the cops, RPF constable Priyanka Singh reached the place as soon as she got the news. Luckily the railway doctor also arrived at the information of Yatri Mitra.
