“Women Must Speak Up When in Pain”

Lucknow: Lucknow Police Commissionerate has brought a major part of its functioning under women police who have got extra teeth under Mission Shakti. Pink booths, pink patrols and the women police force at 112 and 1090 are testimony to the growing clout of women in the police force.

Spreading awareness about the role women play in the force and the basics about modern day policing were a number of women police personnel at the Lucknow Book Fair.

Speaking to The Lucknow Tribune during the International Women’s Month were cops in uniform who shed light on the happenings. Sadhna Yadav, a constable in the Lucknow Police Commissionerate said, “ It is good that women are getting equal opportunity in the force. We are giving information of 112, 1090 to everyone. We are happy that we are getting full support from family and colleagues to emerge as much more stronger in a male dominated society.

Constable Pinky urged women not to suffer in silence. She said, “if there is any kind of violence or atrocity that they are suffering they must speak up. Women in problem or pain must speakup on time, we assure prompt action. You should never let things pass as they come.”
