Rakesh Srivastava underscores – We are celebrating World Environment Day in special circumstances. Corona has forced us to revisit our relationship with environment. It’s time to thank nature for its precious gifts, and take a pledge to conserve and cultivate them. We must plant at least one sapling and take a pledge that – We won’t waste water, We will revive wells and ponds, we won’t pollute the river and we shall conserve energy. It is also important that on this day Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan gave the call of Total Revolution. While we cannot ourselves produce most of these, as the biggest users and polluters of air, we can atleast do our part in replenishing it by planting trees. Recently, on the World Environment Day, there was a massive drive to encourage people to plant more trees to do our part in making the world better than it is now. A pinching thought at the end- we would require wood for our funeral pyre as well, so if for nothing else, we should atleast grow the wood for our own future requirements. Happy environment day!”
