Workshop held at Saraswati Dental College on Conscious Sedation
Lucknow: Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry of Saraswati Dental College, conducted lecture and Hands-on workshop on Nitrous oxide Inhalation Sedation.
Head of Department, Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, Dr. Saumya Navit informed that Conscious Sedation is a technique where Nitrous Oxide or Laughing Gas is used during routine dental procedure as a safe alternative to keep the apprehensive patient relaxed so that they feel emotionally and physically comfortable throughout the treatment.
Saraswati Dental College is one of the few dental colleges in the country that has provided this facility by installing the Conscious Sedation Machine in the Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry.
Prof. (Dr.) Shipra Jaidka was the guest speaker of this program in which she has not only provided knowledge of the machine but also gave first Hand experience of sedation on patient to the students. Around 300 students and delegates participated in this lecture cum workshop.
Mrs. Madhu Mathur (Chairperson, SDC), Dr. Rajat Mathur (President, SDC), Mrs. Smita Mathur, Principal Dr. K. N. Dubey, Vice Principal,Head of Department Dr. SaumyaNavit, Dr. Suleman Abbas Khan,Dr. Meenakshi Upadhyay, Dr. Seema Jabeen & Dr. Shaifali Agrawal were present for the program. Heads of the Pedodontics Department of various dental colleges were also present during this program.
This course on Conscious Sedation which is current and future of dentistry, will immensely benefit the budding and practising dentist in their clinical practices.
