Workshop on POCSO Act organized by Lucknow University Campus
Lucknow: Under the joint auspices of Legal Aid Center and District Legal Services Authority, a prestigious institution of Lucknow University Law Faculty and Dean of Law Faculty, Workshop on POCSO Act 2012 was organized in St. Anthony Inter College, Jankipuram. D. Singh and Dr. Alok Kumar Yadav (Chairperson, Legal Aid Center). Manish Tiwari, coordinator of the Legal Aid Center were present.
The program was started by Anjashi Mishra, who told the children about the POCSO Act and its importance. Children were encouraged to share their views on the topic.
Further Shweta Singar explained the difference between good touch and bad touch which is extremely important for children to be able to fearlessly speak out against the act.
Examples were given to the children to clarify the difference. Moving forward in the workshop, Shivangi Singh explained in detail about the punishment for such acts and said that in case of any such incident, the children should immediately inform their parents, guardians. or any other trustworthy person and assure them that the offender will be punished.
Suyash Tripathi explained the responsibility of teachers and school authorities to save children from such heinous acts. He emphasized on the importance of creating a comfortable and friendly environment so that children do not hesitate to report the incident and teachers need to be sensitive and aware of the issue.
In the end, Roshni Thakur, Senior Member, Legal Aid Center urged the students to Concluded the workshop by asking whether they understood the difference between good touch and bad touch and told them about the right to education.
