Lucknow: The state government of Uttar Pradesh is taking the need to curb air pollution very seriously. If reports are to be believed then UP is all set to become the first state to implement clean air action plan with technical cooperation from World Bank.
Reportedly a high-level meeting of CM Yogi Adityanath and World Bank representatives discussed clean air initiatives. World Bank has offered financial assistance for the implementation of ‘Uttar Pradesh Clean Air Action Plan’.
As per the Chief Minister of the State, pilot projects linked with biogas, bio CNG and natural agricultural methods could be launched in the state. The UP CM has said that there needs to be research on gobar gas refilling and laid emphasis on promoting use of e-vehicles. 1.70 crore new cooking gas connections had been given in UP under Ujjwala Yojana and this provided cooking facilities with clean fuel in rural areas, he said.
