Yogi government acts tough against Child Labour

Lucknow: It will be costly for the factory owners to make children employed in industrial establishments. The state government is going to tighten the provisions of punishment and fine to stop child labor. Now the employer can be jailed for one year if caught in the case of child labor. It is proposed to recover a fine of up to Rs 60,000 from him. The draft of changes in the State Manual of Child Labor Act is ready. It has been approved by the state level committee. Now after the approval of the cabinet, the new changes will be effective in the state. In fact, there is still a provision of punishment and fine for making children work in factories and factories. But now it is being changed.

Now there is a provision of imprisonment for one to three months.

So far, there is a system of collecting fine ranging from five thousand to 20 thousand rupees if the case of child labor is caught. Along with this, there is a provision of jail for one to three months. Now it is proposed to increase the fine from minimum 20 thousand to maximum 60 thousand. The sentence is also proposed to be increased from three months to one year. The intention behind increasing the punishment and fine is to prevent the cases of child labor. The state government will now connect such child labor families with various schemes. For this also an action plan will be prepared in coordination with various departments.
