Lucknow: As the Corona pandemic goes out of gear, the Yogi Adityanath government has decided to organize funerals for those who lost their lives by COVID – 19 infection.
CM Yogi Adityanath took the decision after taking cognizance of the insensitivity of the families affected by the Coronavirus infection at the crematorium. A government order has also been issued in this regard.
Additional Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh issued an order reminding all municipal corporations and civic bodies of their basic duties. He has instructed all municipal corporations and civic bodies to arrange for the last rites of all the bodies under the limits of the urban body in the event of death of anyone due to infection of COVID-19.
It is mandatory to follow the COVID protocol during this process. Municipal corporations and urban bodies will spend from the corpus from their own sources or from the State Finance Commission for the funeral procession of corona-infected bodies. At the funeral of a body, a maximum amount of Rs 5000 will be spent.

There are 68,462 active cases in the state.
The chief minister further said that he inspected an integrated Covid Control Center (CCC) in Bareilly. Since last week, as many as 2800 active cases have reduced in this zone, he added.
CM Adityanath stressed that it was predicted Uttar Pradesh will see one lakh positive cases per day from May 5 but as of May 8, it has reported 26,000 cases.
From April 30 we’re seeing a decline in cases and we also started special screening and testing in villages,” the chief minister said.
He also announced that the state government is going to install an oxygen plant in Moradabad to help meet the demand for medical oxygen.
