Yogi government tries making lives of  people begging on Kashi streets better

Yogi government gave guidelines for identification of people involved in begging, their protection, counseling and rehabilitation

Varanasi: Before the G20 conference, Kashi will be seen free of beggars. The Yogi government is running a campaign for this. For the G20 conference, guests from 20 powerful countries of the world will gather in Kashi. The Yogi government is rejuvenating Kashi so that Kashi, which has a cultural, spiritual and religious identity in the world, appears according to its name.

The government is running a beggar-free Kashi campaign. So that the guests of G20 as well as the tourists coming from all over the world take a good image of Kashi with them. Identification, protection, counseling and rehabilitation of people involved in begging.

Kashi, the cultural and spiritual capital of India, has attracted tourists from all over the world for centuries. After the rejuvenation of Kashi and the construction of the newly grand Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham, there has been a record increase in tourists from all over the world. The Yogi government has kept Kashi free from beggars so that the special guests and tourists coming to Kashi for the G-20 conference do not take away the bad image of Kashi. District Social Welfare Officer GR Prajapati told that 6 police station-wise teams have been engaged in this campaign, in which there are more than 8 members from different departments. Campaign is being run especially at temples, ghats and other begging places.

The District Social Welfare Officer said that begging is a crime under the Prevention of Beggary Act, 1975. For this, along with teaching self-respect to the people involved in begging, counseling is being done, so that they do not beg again, homeless and disabled beggars are being given shelter by self-help organizations in Apna Ghar Ashram, old beggars in old age homes, temporary rescue The arrested beggars are being kept in shelter homes. Monks from other districts are being sent to their home districts. Identification of beggars, along with data collection, they are being alerted. The police department has been entrusted with the responsibility that no one should be found sitting at any place for begging, the police is continuously patrolling and ensuring this.
