Lucknow: Revenue is a major driver for any state and the Yogi Adityanath government once in power has ensured that highest standards of fiscal discipline is maintained in the state. After riding to power in 2017, Yogi Adityanath not only reduced the unemployment rate in a four year spell, it also gave wings to the economy with disciplined revenue collection.
As a result of the government’s financial discipline, almost all the important government departments increased revenue collection by 10 to 143 per cent in four years compared to 2016-17.
The party in the next phase plans to launch a massive recruitment drive in government departments. On the other hand, the work of Purvanchal Expressway will be completed and the foundation stone of Jewar Airport will be laid.
In four years, Uttar Pradesh has become the second largest economy in the country in four years. The state ranked second in the country in Ease of Doing Business. The unemployment rate in the year 2017 was 17.5 percent, which has come down to 4.1 percent in the year 2021.
Even during the Corona period revenue collection has increased. Where the then government received revenue of Rs 51882.88 crore from the commercial tax in the year 2017, it increased by 10.5 per cent to Rs 57345 crore in the year 2021. The government reportedly got 17 percent more revenue from the Excise Department. Similarly, the government increased taxes and stamps by 103 per cent and the amount increased to Rs 23550.55 crore in the year 2021. Earnings by the Transport Department also increased by 143 percent to Rs 12515.07 crore in the year 2021.
Similarly, the revenue of the mining department increased by 56 percent. The mining department earned Rs 2415.30 crore.
