Yogi’s New Year Gift: 1,040 flats for urban poor people under light house project

Lucknow: In the capital of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow a total of 1040 urban poor are going to get a flat of 415 square feet area in just five lakhs.

The set costing of all these flats will be 12 lakh 59 thousand, in which 7 lakh 83 thousand rupees will be given as a grant from the Centre and the state government.

The amount that remains to be paid will be four lakh 76 thousand, paid to a beneficiary of EWS category. The flat allotment will be done as per the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojan. Through DUDA an open lottery will be conducted under the chairmanship of DM. The project has been proposed in the Awadh Vihar plan located on Shaheed Path.

14 states had applied to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India keeping in mind the urban weaker sections. It has selected six states, Indore in Madhya Pradesh, Rajkot in Gujarat, Chennai in Tamil Nadu, Ranchi in Jharkhand, Agartala in Tripura and Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh to build houses under the Light House Project. Preparations have been completed for the construction of the proposed Light House Project (LHP) under the Awadh Vihar Yojana at Shaheed Path. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the project on January 1 next year, with Chief Minister Yogi leading the state representation.

Under this, 14-storey towers will be built and 1040 flats will be available to people belonging to weaker section. The construction will be completed in 15 months.

LHP will transform the construction sector, as it will develop a new pace of construction and the use of pre fabricated items will make construction more sustainable and environment friendly.
