Lucknow: Art is a very powerful medium to convey any message to the common people. Keeping this in mind, the Urban Development Department, Uttar Pradesh has organized a painting competition and exhibition by the College of Arts and Crafts, Lucknow University.
Director Local Body Neha Sharma inspected the paintings made in the competition and encouraged them by meeting the students. She praised all the paintings and appreciated each and every painting.
Neha Sharma said that it was organized in collaboration with the College of Arts and Crafts, Lucknow University. Our aim was to spread the message of cleanliness through our paintings by young talents.
Neha Sharma said that a conference is being organized in the Directorate of Local Bodies on November 4 under the Swachh Bharat Mission, Uttar Pradesh. In this, representatives coming from many other states including Uttar Pradesh will also participate. During this, an exhibition of paintings prepared by the students will be organized. In this, the new thinking of these youth will also be included. She said that the role of youth in public participation would be taken forward.
During the painting competition, the students displayed their perspective and artistry on many topics like cleanliness, environment, water. Showcasing art styles like Indian Folk Art, Modern Art, Contemporary Art, Madhubani Art, Mysore Painting, these young artists brought their expression on canvas. The artists tried to convey the message in a very creative manner reflecting the objectives of the Swachh Bharat Mission.
Students from other institutions including Arts and Crafts College, Amity University, Dr. Shakuntala Mishra National Rehabilitation University, Techno Institute and Goyal Institute participated in the painting competition organized by the Urban Development Department.
