Young Kathak enthusiasts do Ghungroo poojan as an ode to their Gurus

Lucknow: On the last Sunday of Bhado month, a traditional fair was organized in the old Bhairavji temple located near Guinn Road in the city. It is known that this fair, which is held near Kalka Bindadin Deodhi, holds special significance for the people of Kathak genre of Lucknow Gharana.
All the gurus and disciples of Kathak have been worshiping their Ghungroos here and getting blessings from the tradition by bowing to Baba Bhairav and their gurus.
Even today, Mahant Veena Giri performed the worship of Ghungroos of dance artists. Ratan sisters Isha-Misha, the disciples of Surbhi Singh, also offered prayers.
Under the guidance of Guru Kumkum Adarsh, Mahant Giri performed Ghunghuru poojan of the artists of Lachhu Maharaj Ballet Center at Batuk Bhairav Ji temple in the presence of Rameshwari Devi, daughter of great Kathak Guru Pt. Shambhu Maharaj of Lucknow Gharana.
The artists included Ekta, Ankita, Seema, Anamika, Nandini, Piyush, Anjul etc.
