Meerut: Everyone wants to become famous and for that they can go to any extent. A jeweller from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh has tried achieving a unique feat by making a ring with the highest number of diamonds. He is now part of the Guinness Book of World Records.
The 25 year old young turk has replaced the earlier record holder, Koti Srikanth, a jeweller from Hyderabad. The jeweller had created the ring with 7,801 diamonds.
Harshit Bansal of Meerut meanwhile created this record by making a ‘Marigold Diamond Ring’. The 165.45 gram ring with 8 layers, 12,638 diamonds of 38.08 carat are studded.
Harshit has been quoted by the media saying – “My wife and I had read about making a Guinness Record for a ring with 6,690 diamonds in 2018. At that time I was opening my store in Meerut. I took it up as a challenge aiming to make customized jewellery.
He started work on this magnificent ring in 2018 itself and completed it in February 2020. Harshit has learned jewellery designing from Surat after doing his BBA and MBA from SRM University in Meerut.
Harshit and his team did a special test of every diamond and all of them are EF colored and very very sleek (VVS) with clarity which is the best quality of diamonds. The ring is certified by the International Gemological Laboratory (IGI), which is one of the most prestigious labs for diamond jewellery certification globally.
“I kept searching for the design for a long time and finally I found it in my garden. A marigold flower attracted me and I put it between my fingers to see what it would look like. Each petal in the ring is uniquely shaped and none of them are like the other, making it more unique.”
