Youth to play lead role in spreading the word on ITI Chalo Abhiyaan

Lucknow: In the post pandemic era, Industrial Training Institutes are the key to training up young professionals for the challenges ahead. As job markets shrink, skill building is the ultimate goal of anyone today. In such times the ITI Chalo Abhiyaan is fast picking steam. This campaign is gaining popularity as youth today want to become self-sufficient. In view of the Covid convention, the youth should be imparted online training. Emphasis should be laid on making online training interesting for the youth, for this, along with giving interesting information related to great men to the youth in online training, inspirational stories should be told.

Calling for holistic development and adopting the ITI Model was Minister of State for Vocational Education and Skills (Independent Charge) of the state Kapil Dev Aggarwal during the review of 09 Mandals.

Aggarwal reviewed the skill training being imparted through Zoom in Agra, Aligarh, Azamgarh, Chitrakoot Dham, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Bareilly, Jhansi and Kanpur divisions. He first expressed his condolences to the dead due Covid infection in the department. He said that everyone should follow the protocol of Covid infection. The minister held talks with the concerned officers and private IT operators of each board. He also listened to suggestions about the work being done and the training being done by the department in the board.

Aggarwal said that the parent sends children to ITI with the belief that their child will be able to get self-employment by getting training through ITI. To maintain this belief, youths should be trained and provided employment opportunities. There should not be any negligence or laxity in this. He said that schools should be approached to connect children with ITI. In view of Covid, only online training is being given, but as soon as the guidelines for the establishment of the institute comes, then preparations should be made on a war footing to make the youth practical oriented, so that the youth can be fully trained and get employment.

He said that special attention should be paid to quality in the construction works being done by the department. There should not be any kind of negligence in it. For this, the concerned district officials go on the spot and inspect the works themselves. He said that the department should make available the list of youths receiving health related training to the concerned District Magistrate or CMO, so that the services of trained youth can be availed.
