Zero tolerance towards crime in Uttar Pradesh topmost priority

Lucknow: As per the instructions of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Principal Secretary Home Sanjay Prasad reviewed the law and order situation of the state through video conferencing at Yojana Bhawan. On this occasion, while informing the Chief Minister’s instructions to the government, zone, range, commissionerate and district level police officers, he said that the state government is working under the policy of zero tolerance towards crime and criminals.

Statewide campaigns are being conducted in relation to effective public hearing, women’s safety, illegal mining, encroachment, taxi stand etc. Effective actions are being taken by the Uttar Pradesh Police in relation to effectively curbing GST theft, cow-smuggling, drug-trafficking and other organized crimes.

Giving instructions, the Principal Secretary Home said that actions should be taken keeping the Interstate Intelligence Group active in relation to crime information.

Criminals involved in heinous crimes should be punished in the least possible time, by providing effective advocacy in the court. Our aim should be to provide justice to the victim. Proper arrangement of security should be ensured in the subordinate court premises according to the fixed standards.

CCTV cameras have been installed by the state government for the security of the court premises. The Commissioner of Police/Senior Superintendent of Police/Superintendent of Police should ensure that all the security equipment in the court premises should be in fully functional condition and trained police personnel should be deployed for the security of the court premises. Strict compliance of other security arrangements including pass arrangements for entering the court premises should be ensured.

Principal Secretary Home said that the jail manual should be strictly followed in all the jails. The security system of all important institutions including bus stands, railway stations, airports should be further strengthened. Illegal taxi stand/bus stand should not operate under any circumstances. Arrangement for parking of vehicles should be ensured and it should be strictly followed. All the police officers of the district, range and zone level should stay in their work areas for the night and keep their office telephones and mobile phones active. The officers should not work from the camp office except on holidays and do foot patrolling regularly in the area.

Processions and other yatras should be completed only with the permission of the district administration. The district level coordination committee should ensure arrangements for cleanliness, drinking water and security at all religious places in view of upcoming festivals. Worship lessons and other religious activities should not be done at any public place. Proper arrangements should be made for traffic in religious pilgrimage routes.

The state government is developing the cities as safe cities to make the security system and traffic system of the cities fool-proof. The district administration should complete all the necessary actions regarding the safe city in time. The state government is fully committed to strengthen the law and order and security of the state. In this regard, the basic facilities of the Uttar Pradesh Police Force have been increased by the state government. The police force has been provided with security equipment and logistics facilities.

On this occasion, Director General of Police Vijay Kumar gave instructions to take priority action on crimes related to women. He said that the work of safety, respect and self-reliance of women is being done through Mission Shakti. For the empowerment of women, women beat officers should communicate regularly with the women/girls of their area and solve their problems. The security arrangements of the court premises should be ensured as per the orders of Supreme Court,  High Court, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India and Government level. Special DG Law and Order Prashant Kumar and other senior police officers were present on the occasion.
