Zero waste banners mandatory in this year’s Bada Mangal
Lucknow: Every year in the capital of Uttar Pradesh, a large number of Bhandaras are organized during Bada Mangal in the month of Jeth. Everyone waits for this event to be held in Lucknow throughout the year. This time, UP Police and Lucknow Municipal Corporation have issued an appeal regarding Bhandara. Lucknow Police has said that it is an appeal to all the people that whoever wants to organize Bade Mangal Bhandara must inform about this event in their local police station so that the police can manage traffic and other things at their own level.
LMC issued guideline
The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) made it mandatory for the organizers of Bada Mangal Bhandara to put up zero-waste banners and two dustbins for biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste during the event. LMC has informed about this by issuing a press statement along with the commencement of the registration process for this event.
It is very important to follow the guidelines
Municipal commissioner Inderjit Singh said the organizers had the option of visiting the LMC website, the Lucknow One app, or calling 1533 and providing details such as names, contact numbers and number of people. “Strict action will be taken against those not following the norms,” he said.
Trying to keep the city clean
The purpose of registration is to enable the LMC to arrange vehicles and other services for collecting, sorting and disposing of waste based on the information provided by the organisers. This will help in keeping the city clean, otherwise, the garbage generated during the event has to be cleaned by the organiser.
Strict instructions for the organizers
The Municipal Commissioner appealed to the public to avoid using disposable plastic items and single-use polythene. He said that after the event the organizer should inform the control room and request for a garbage van.
Municipal Corporation’s attempt to spread awareness
With this initiative, LMC aims to create awareness about waste management and encourage people to adopt eco-friendly practices during public events and keep the city clean and healthy.
